Bridge of Sighs is an ardent and unusual 30-minute quartet for two women and two men, looking at the instincts - both reckless and wise - that drive us upstream toward love. Involved in passionate, often comedic interludes with each other, each dancer's individuality shines through to fuel a deeply vibrant, wry and tender investigation of partnership, the fear of commitment, and loneliness. Bridge of Sighs draws its title from the ancient and beautiful bridge of Venice, now famously visited by honeymooning couples, over which condemned prisoners made their final passage toward a lifetime in the dungeons of the Doge.
