I am happy to announce my second Creative Artist Residency from The Joyce Theater. The first time I received one of the theater's two annual Mellon Foundation Awards supported the creation of our lush and lively Garden, which I created in 2011.
The Creative Artist Residency includes an unrestricted grant of $25,000 to go towards expenses for the creation of a new work. Our new dance will be presented as a New York premiere by The Joyce Theater as part of its 2015-16 season.
The Joyce residency also includes 240 hours of rehearsal time and the services of a dedicated rehearsal assistant and choreographic advisor of our choosing. As it becomes exceedingly more difficult to find resources for the choreographic process, having time and space to rehearse and seed funding for a new production is a gift.
We look forward to sharing what we conjure and try on this year.
